How do you become an adoptive parent?

Complete the Licensing Process

Once you have successfully completed the process, our Foster Home Developer will start the search of finding a Forever Match for you. These will be children whose parental rights have been terminated and the children are considered as Legally Free. This means that the 90 day process of appeals has been exhausted and no additional biological family has come forward. These children desire a forever home and a family that will accept them for who they are so the Search Process is intense and deliberate. Patience is required to protect all parties.  We want the best home for each child and the best match for each family. This is an emotional, happy, and exciting process. Pray.

Child Visitations

Once a child is matched to you and the Adoption Team agrees that there is a match, visitations will be scheduled. You set up times, days, and weekends to visit the child in their current placement. If all goes well, visits at your home will be arranged. It is pertinent that this match is good for all parties and the child feels safe and wanted. After much dialogue and collaboration, a decision is made to go forward or not.

Child Placement

Cherished Impressions Child Placing Agency will match you with a child that you can leave a cherished impression on, based upon your preference, certification, and license. A child must be in your home 6-12 months before adoption will occur. Remember, the goal is to ensure a successful placement for each child. We believe that every child deserves a permanent family and forever home.

Consummation "Adoption" Day

We are always ready for Adoption Day! This is a jubilant day that we celebrate with you and your family at the courthouse. Enjoy and CHERISH this day forever!
